KNIFE BLADE GRINDING

Larkin Precision operates two state of the art 5-access CNC Berger BG-2 flat grinders. These machines are capable of producing most modern knife design trends. With our combined experience of over twenty years grinding knives, there is not much we cannot do.

These machines are designed for production knife jobs. We require a minimum of 200 blades to set up and run one knife design. The machine is designed to grind blades in the "hard condition". We are familiar with most common knife steels and in some cases can do more exotic steels. However, they may need to be run in the soft condition. Please call before heat treating if you have questions about your specific material.

We took delivery on our most recent Berger in December 2013, and this has greatly increased our production. Our average lead times are now some of the best in the industry.

In order to understand more about your knife and to determine pricing, we will need to see some sort of a drawing or picture with dimensions. The way we determine pricing is based on a variety of factors;  we will need to understand our "scope of work."

Most commonly, our scope of work would be defined as double-disc grinding, bevel grinding, and tumbling. Occasionally, our customers will ask us to laser cut, heat treat, or potentially source the material. We are comfortable doing this, but we need to know ahead of time in order to price accordingly.

In order to get pricing on double-disc, bevel, and tumbling work, all we require is a picture or drawing with dimensions. Please send to office@larkinprecision.com and we will respond to as soon as possible.
